KOZHIKODE: The police registered a case against a farmers’ community for staging a poster campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Kozhikode Kasaba police kept five Kisan Mahasangh activists for 12 hours in preventive custody for trying to stage a protest by sticking protests on the day Modi arrives in the district. A case was registered and were released later. K V Biju, an activist of the farmers’ organisations said they were taken into custody forcibly when they campaigned peacefully and in a democratic manner.
