ganja-smuggling

NEDUMBASSERY: Police have started the search for a Kottayam woman in connection with the seizure of 1.25 kg ganja from a flight traveller who had arrived at Kochi International airport to board flight to the Gulf.

Based on the information received from the detained Kollam Chittayam native Justine Clementil (30), Kochi Narcotic Control bureau officials went searching for the woman in Kottayam.
The primary assumption is that Justine is the middleman of ganja smugglers. He was caught when he reached Nedumbassery airport to catch a flight to Bahrain. Ganja was recovered from him during the security check.

The accused was found to have travelled to foreign countries on visiting Visa earlier also. Justine confessed to the police that the woman had given the ganja packets to him and instructed him to hand it over to a man who would be meeting him at Bahrain airport after calling him on his phone.

The woman had fled Kottayam by the time the police reached there to take her into custody.

The ganja was kept inside the luggage after covering it with vetiver roots (Ramacham roots) in order to prevent emanation of ganja smell.
Justine’s plan was to go to Bahrain via Colombo.
