NEW DELHI: Following Shashi Tharoor’s complaint that certain Congress leaders are not cooperating with his election campaign, Karshaka Congress leader Nana Patole was appointed by the AICC as the observer in Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency.
Patole, who was pitted against Union Minister Nithin Gadkari in Nagpur where the first phase of polling was held, will fly to Thiruvananhapuram very soon.
The high command’s assessment is that Patole who had posed a big challenge to Gadkari will be beneficial to the party in Thiruvananthapuram also. He will coordinate and lead the campaigns in the capital city.
Meanwhile, Congress party’s review meeting of election campaign in Kerala will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
Besides State leaders, AICC general Secretary Mukul Wasnik will also take part in the meeting. Tharoor’s complaint will be considered specially.
Interestingly, Patole is a leader who started in BJP, then jumped to the Congress turf and again jumped back to the Congress.
