THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC general secretary K C Venugopal said there is no slowdown in the poll campaigning of UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor. One more observer was appointed in the capital city to give special attention, he said.

The party has entrusted an observer in all constituencies. One additional observer was appointed in the capital city as this constituency is a honoured constituency of the Congress and not because of any slowdown in the poll campaign. The congress is pinning high hopes in the constituency and hope for a third consecutive win, he said when he came to attend the meet convened to review the campaign activities of all the 20 constituencies of the state.

Apart from K C Venugopal, AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala Mukul Vasnik will lead the meet. AICC special representative Nana Patole is likely to attend the meeting.

The complaint that a section of party leaders are not cooperating in the poll campaign of Tharoor was seen seriously by the AICC. As part of it, Nana Patole was appointed as AICC observer for the constituency. Following Tharoor’s complaint, KPCC intervened and Patole was made observer.

A similar complaint was obtained on Palakkad constituency.
