PALAKKAD: Tragedy met two people after their attempts to save a squirrel’s life ended up in loss of their own life. Another person is admitted to the hospital.

Suresh (42), son of Koppam Vettikkad Karimpanakkal Ramakrishnan and Surendran (36), son of Mylattukunnu Kunhikuttan are the deceased. Surendran’s brother Krishnankutty (30) is admitted at a private hospital in Perinthalmanna. The incident occurred around 9 am at Thrithala Koppam.

The attempts to rescue a squirrel that fell into a well in the premises of their houses ended in a disaster. Suresh, who reached out to the bottom of the well, passed out due to suffocation. Surendran and Krishnankutty’s rescue attempts resulted in further danger.
