KOCHI: The 15-day-old who was rushed to Amrita hospital in Ernakulam from a private hospital in Mangalapuram today has been shifted to Intensive Care Unit. Health Minister K K Shailaja informed that the government would bear the whole medical expense of the child.
“The child is having some heart-related ailments and the health condition is serious and hence any kind of surgery cannot be performed immediately,” the doctors said.
The child will be under the observation of doctors for 24 hours.
Meanwhile, government sources have informed that the child’s treatment will be included in the government’s Hridyam scheme and the government will foot the complete medical bill of the baby.
Though the initial plan was to bring the child to Sree Chithra in Thiruvananthapuram, child was rushed to Amrita hospital in Ernakulam so that treatment didn’t get delayed.
