MALAPPURAM/ ERNAKULAM/ PATHANAMTHITTA: Accidents have taken 10 lives across the state yesterday, on land and water. At the Kozhikode-Palakkad National Highway, an accident involving a tanker lorry and goods autorickshaw claimed the lives of three other state laborers. Another accident at Udayamperoor Kochupally where a KSRTC bus and car collided, two people lost their lives. Brothers died while bathing at Pathankayam waterfalls in Kozhikode and three youth died at Pampa River near Ranni.

Three other state laborers that died at Kozhikode-Palakkad NH were S.K. Sabeer Ali (47), Saadath (40) and their relative Said-ul-Khan (30). The tanker lorry that was overtaking another vehicle at high speed hit the goods auto rickshaw that was carrying five other state workers. The injured are hospitalized at Manjeri Medical College. Sabir Ali is survived by his wife Musleema Beevi and three kids. Sadath’s wife: Mafuja Beevi. They have three kids. Saidul Khan’s wife Savera Beevi. They have a three month-year-old kid.

In the accident at Udayamperoor Kochupally Achuthan Nair (68) and his mother-in-law, Kamalakshi Amma (80) was killed in a collision between bus and car. Achuthan Nair’s wife Nalinakshi Amma (56) has been hospitalized with serious injuries. They were returning home after visiting Vaikom Mahadeva Temple. Kamalakshi Amma is the wife of late Gopalakrishnan Nair. Daughters: Letha, Pushpa. Sons: Mohankumar, Gopalakrishnan. In-laws: Narayanan Nair, Manmadhan, Nishan Radhika. Achuthan Nair’s Son: Nikhil. In-law: Sruthi.

Vishnu (20) and Visakh (18) drowned to death at Pathankayam waterfalls. Father: Vasudevan. Mother: Pushpa. Brother: Benoy.

Sujith(28), Nandu (22) and their Prasanth (21) drowned to death at Pampa river near Vadasserikara Banglamkadav bridge around 12 noon.
