KOZHIKODE: Supreme Court’s interference regarding the entry of Muslim women inside mosques should be done by respecting the values of faith, says Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobakker, the Indian Grand Mufti and the general secretary of All Kerala Jam Iyyathul Ulama. “The Muslim religious policy teaches that home is the best place of worship for a woman. Women go to Mecca for Hajj and Umra. That need not be followed elsewhere”, Kanthapuram said.
“That’s why Jumuah prayer is not compulsory for women. When interfering in religion, the court needs to consult with religious pundits. Only a few spoiled sections of the Islam community wants women inside mosques”, Kanthapuram opined.
