THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be going abroad for 10 days during the interval before the results of the Lok Sabha elections. Some top officials will accompany him for the trip. He will be out of state from May 8-17. The trip is to introduce samples related to the reconstruction of the state after the floods.
The chief minister and the officials including the chief secretary will be attending various programmes in Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Britain. The listing of the KIIFBY masala bond will be held along with this in London. Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac will attend this. The chief minister, chief secretary Tom Jose and additional chief secretary (irrigation) Dr Viswas Mehta will attend various programmes in Netherlands from May 9-11. They will visit Norwood sector in Netherlands in connection with the room for river project of UNEP. A meeting with the experts of modernization and modern farming practices has been fixed.
The team will participate in the UN-World Reconstruction Conference from May 13-15 in Geneva. Following that, they will visit various eco-tourism schemes. Revenue secretary Dr V Venu and Disaster Management Authority member secretary Dr Shekar L Kuriakose will join the team in Geneva. The chief minister along with the chief secretary will reach Paris and communicate with various Malayalee organisations. The team will reach the state on May 18.
