MALAPPURAM: Again an ambulance has started from Al Shifa hospital in Perinthalmanna carrying a three-day-old child suffering from heart ailments to Thiruvananthapuram Sree Chithra Institute of Medical Science.

The ambulance, pressed into service under the health department’s Hridyam scheme, is taking the child to Thiruvananthapuram.

The relatives had earlier contacted the offices of the chief minister and the health minister, seeking help. The child belongs to Malappuram Vengoor native couple Najad and Irfan.
