KOCHI: The woman confessed to the brutal torture of her three-year-old son admitted in the hospital in a serious condition in Aluva. She confessed to the crime after hours of interrogation. The arrest of the woman will be recorded soon. Police said the child was tortured constantly.
Meantime, Health Minister K K Shylaja said the government will meet the expenses of the child’s treatment. The woman told police that the boy was punished for disobeying her. She has been booked under the Child Justice Act. She said that she used to burn the boy’s body with a spatula and used to beat him on his head with a wooden log. The police will also record the statements of their neighbours. The police is examining whether the boy’s father has a role in the incident. The boy’s father is a native of Bengal and mother of Jharkhand. The Kerala police will be contacting Jharkhand police to know whether the couple has any criminal background.
The boy was admitted in the hospital yesterday in a serious condition. He was subjected for an emergency operation and is in the ventilator.
