oommen-chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM is bribing voters using event managements which is the first in the history of Kerala, alleged former chief minister and AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy. He sought immediate action on the basis of the complaint lodged by Kollam UDF candidate’s election committee chairman and convenor to district presiding offer, police and the election commission.

Though a press meet was convened in Kollam by the concerned, no action was taken. Event managements distribute the money as per the list given by the party. This method is practiced in many constituencies. The event management group based in Kozhikode has been entrusted for it. The CPM hiring event management groups to influence voters by giving money shows their depth of the fear of failure. He said this would be a deadly blow for the democratic system which lasted for more than seven decades.

Meantime, Minister Dr Thomas Isaac said Chandy’s allegations are childish and the UDF candidate of Kollam, all set to join BJP will be defeated. N K Premachandran who was part of the Left Front for many years should see how long he continues in the UDF camp. It is sure that the BJP will cross vote for Premachandran. Eyeing this, noted congress leaders Bindu Krishna and others are staying away from the campaign. Chandy's recent allegations are out of fear, he added.
