THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The murder of the law student in Perumbavoor was sponsored by the CPM, alleged former DGP T P Senkumar. He alleged this in his service story ‘Ente Police Jeevitham’. The CPM is behind the murder of the law student in Perumbavoor and an exact probe was not done in the Shukoor murder case, he said. However, he is just levelling allegations and was not ready to give any accurate evidence.

The law student and a native of Perumbavoor was found dead in his house on April 28 in 2016. This incident had sparked a controversy in Kerala during the time of the assembly polls. On June 16, the accused identified as Ameerul Islam, a native of Assam was arrested. The case is that he killed her brutally for not complying with his sexual offences. The charge sheet said the when the girl asked for water, he poured liquor into her mouth. He also inflicted serious stab injuries on her. The charge sheet was filed on September 17 in 2016 and a secret trial started in the principal sessions court on March 13. Following that the Ernakulam principal sessions court awarded death sentence to the accused on December 14 in 2017.
