KOZHIKODE: A youth stabbed an old man to death in front of the Commissioner office in Kozhikode by around 2 pm on Saturday.
The dead man is yet to be identified. Police have arrested Prabin Das (33), the accused and a native of Valayam.
Prabin stabbed the old man’s neck and hand using a knife in front of Mananchira City police Commissioner Office. When he tried to stab the old man again, the latter ran into the Commisisoner’s office with blood oozing out from his stab wounds.
The youth followed him, roaring that he wanted to go to jail and for that he need to kill such persons. The policemen at the office overpowered him and took him into custody.
Though the old man was rushed to the Medical College hospital, his life could not be saved. His body was later shifted to Medical college mortuary.
The policemen said Prabin is a mental patient.
