THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Large-scale irregularity is being alleged in voters’ list at Nemon constituency, when just hours are left for Lok Sabha election.
The latest allegation is that the name of famous architect and Padma Shree winner Shankar is not to be found in the voters’ list.
He has given a complaint to the election commission, seeking to find out the reason for excluding his name.
Shankar who is from Poojappura ward had exercised his voting rights in various local body, assembly and Lok Sabha elections over the past three and a half decades.
But this time he didn’t receive the vote slip and when enquired about the reason, he was told that his name is not in the voters’ list.
“According to the law, a voter’s permission is needed to remove his name from the list. But I don’t know how my name got deleted. The booth-level officer also didn’t enquire about the flaw. Though I complained to the collector, I was told that the time for accepting complaint was over,” Shankar explained.
