THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF and UDF activists clashed at different parts across the state on the final day of public campaign. Stones were pelted at UDF candidate Ramya Haridas’ campaign vehicle. Ramya got injured and was immediately hospitalized. A police officer was also injured. The BJP alleged that the campaign vehicle was also subject to attack near Kazhakkoootam.
Meanwhile, CPM-BJP activists were engaged in a conflict at Pathanamthitta. Senior Congress leader A. K. Antony’s roadshow in Thiruvananthapuram was blocked by left activists. Antony and group had to walk the rest of the way to reach the campaign venue. Antony slammed the incident and called out the incident as hooliganism from the CPM.
There are allegations that NDA candidate K. Surendran’s roadshow was blocked by LDF workers at Pathanamthitta. Conflict erupted between CPM and SDPI activists at Palarivattom in Ernakulam. LDF activists and the police were engaged in a war of words at Ponnani.
