THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: I have not expressed any regret to the election commission related to the sensational references made during the Lok Sabha campaign, said BJP state chief P S Sreedharan Pillai. The statement of chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena that I tendered an apology is wrong, he said. Meena told reporters that he goes out and talks stupid. He should clarify his statement, Pillai said. He is acting with some animosity. The election commission should not behave like this. Will approach the court against this and civil and criminal steps will be taken, he said while addressing the press meet.
Congress chief Rahul Gandhi doesn’t even know who his opponent is. With this the leaders of the state have lost their relevance, he alleged. Pillai condemned the move of the election commission to insult the state chief of one of the biggest political party in public. The election commission asked the centre to keep me away from election campaigning for the crime I have not committed.
The election commission’s behaviour towards me was very rude, he said.
