THRISSUR: Actor-MP Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul Suresh has strongly criticised those who were behind “fake campaigns” to malign the reputation of his father.
He said Suresh Gopi was late in beginning the campaign in Thrissur and when he also started going with his father for the campaign, he went through some hurting occasions.
“There was a lobby who worked for the defeat of my father and they campaigned that there would be only communalism if ever the actor-MP wins the election. They consciously hid the good things done by him and tried to highlight other unpleasant news about him. They even spread the rumour that if Suresh Gopi wins, he will deny worshipping rights of other communities. They went about saying that defeating Suresh Gopi is tantamount to going to Mecca on pilgrimage,” Gokul said.
“The fact that my father registered his vehicle in Pondicherry was used in campaign against him. Only two vehicles were registered in Pondicherry and none of the laws says that it is a murder crime. But this was celebrated by media as if it was a terror case,” he said.
Gokul Suresh added that cyberattacks against Biju Menon was perpetrated using money power.
