THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet decided to permit a month’s free ration to the people of the coastal areas. The decision was taken considering the sea erosion faced recently.
The government also decided to give the contract to Reliance related to the health scheme of government employees.
Fishermen has been directed not to venture out into the sea until further notice. As the model code of conduct exists, the decision can be implemented only with the permission of the election commission. The government will approach the commission for it.
The cabinet decided to give the contract to Reliance the RIT Insurance Scheme of government employees and pensioners. Earlier, an insurance coverage of up to 6 lakhs was formed. Reliance submitted the lowest financial tender related to it and so the finance department recommended to give the contract to them. The cabinet later approved it.
The cabinet also accepted the recommendation of the jail panel to release seven prisoners above 70 years from jails across the state. They have completed 14 years jail term. The details of them have not been obtained yet.
