THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state chief P S Sreedharan Pillai Sunday said the RSS does not interfere in the affairs of the party. Things in the BJP are decided by the party itself. He said that he is not aware of the statement that the RSS has directed to remove him from the post and that there would be a reshuffle in the party. I don’t know about a reorganisation in the party. I don’t know whether the RSS has taken such a decision, he told a private channel.

The RSS circles had indicated that if the BJP don’t get any seats in the Lok Sabha polls, then Pillai would be removed. The central leadership had assessed that his statements during electioneering would be a setback for them. The RSS leadership had hinted that Pillai was given a temporary post when Kummanam Rajashekharan was made Mizoram Governor.

Meantime, Pillai sought a detailed probe on the allegation of bogus voting in Kannur and Kasargod constituencies. There is a suspicion that a conspiracy was hatched between the state government and election commission. Though central police was appointed in the two constituencies, no one was appointed in sensitive booths. Serious lapses were reported on the side of the state government and election commission. A probe should be conducted and if necessary re-polling should be held, he said.
