KOCHI: A neighbour has come to the fore with shocking revelation in connection with the death of a baby at Pattanakad in Alappuza. The neighbour said that the woman used to beat the child always and even threatened to kill her. When the baby was two months old, she was beaten brutally. He had lodged a complaint on this to the police station. The police summoned her then and had settled the case. The woman would be soon arrested based on the statement of the neighbours and on the report of the post-mortem.
Aadisha, born to Sharone and Athira of Kollamveli Colony was found dead on Saturday. Apart from the parents, Sharon’s mother was also there. Sharone used to fight with her regularly. He was arrested two months back for torturing her. Neighbours said there is a fight in the house frequently. The baby’s grandmother told police that the parents are responsible for the baby’s death.
The baby girl was found dead inside her home under mysterious circumstances. Though she was taken to Cherthala taluk hospital, her life could not be saved. The parents told police that the baby died due to asphyxiation. Usually this happens to children below one year. On being informed, the Pattanakkad police reached and conducted a detailed examination. They could not find anything in her body expect a mark on her left upper lip.
