KANNUR: The congress launched an attack against bogus voting in Kannur. They alleged bogus voting at Thaliparambu constituency in Kannur. CPM activists entered booth 171 of Thaliparambu constituency, created an uproar and cast bogus votes. Congress polling agent Narayanan said 25 bogus votes including of those abroad were cast in booth number 172. The clippings of these bogus voting were exposed. The report of the collector will be handed over to the central election commission.
CCTV visuals of the polling booth shows six, including two women, voting more than twice at polling booth number 17 and 19 at AUP School Pilathara in Kannur which is part of Kasaragod constituency. It was alleged that Cheruthazham panchayat member and former member did bogus votes. Following the allegation, election commission had sought a report from district collectors.
Meantime, the congress sought re-polling in Kasargod constituency where 90% polling was reported. The party has requested to entrust central force and central election officials here. In the meanwhile, the report of district collector Mir Muhammed Ali on bogus voting will be send for the consideration of the central election commission. Chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena will hand over the report to the commission.
