THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena said there is no compromise on the steps against bogus voting. The case is seen seriously, he told reporters here. District collectors of Kasargod and Kannur were directed to submit a factual report soon on the allegation of the LDF that Muslim League activists did bogus voting, added Meena.

Meena said that it has not come to his notice on the allegation of widespread bogus voting related to the postal votes of cops. However, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC chief Mullappally Ramachandran had earlier lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, an explanation was sought from DGP Lokanath Behera. A reply was obtained. Meena said he did not find anything illegal.

Meena said that he has asked all district collectors to submit a report at the earliest after examining the complaint voiced by leaders’ via media on bogus voting.
