THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested an employee of Technopark on Wednesday in a case related to the sexual abuse of a nine-year-old girl.

The accused is Vijay, a drawing teacher and a graphic designer of a company in Technopark at Kazhakoottam. The incident related to the case that happened on April 27.

The police version: The girl had gone for drawing class held during vacation period. At that time Vijay was there and his leg had an injury from some accident.

According to the police, Vijay had taken the girl to his flat room, asking her to help him with dressing the wound.
There he sexually abused the girl. She returned home and started behaving in a strange manner.

Noticing this change in the child, the parents managed to make the girl tell what had happened to her. Soon after this, they contacted the child welfare board.

In the counselling held after that, the board members got some valuable and shocking information from the child.
Soon after this, the case was handed over to Thumba police.

A case under POCSO Act has been registered against the accused.

Meanwhile, police have prevented media from taking photos of the accused. Vijay is a graphic designer with Toons Animation institution in Technopark.
