THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Valiyathura police on Wednesday caught a woman with nine litre foreign liquor worth more than one lakh rupees. Since it was May 1 yesterday, it was dry day, as well.

It was Bala Nagar Sajitha House resident Mini (42) who was arrested.

Police searched the house on a tip off that foreign liquor was being sold from her house. In the raid conducted in the house, bottles of foreign liquor stacked under the bed was found.

By checking the bag recovered from the room it was found that Mini had earned Rs 31,710 by selling liquor over the past one week.

The sale was done early morning and in the evenings. Mini told the police that she used to buy liquor from beverages and resell it.

The police have started probe into this. Mini is being questioned in detail in Women’s Cell.
