KOCHI: After grinding out people from the backward caste in the Vice Chancellor post at CUSAT, a similar approach is getting implemented in the Pro Vice-Chancellor post as well.

The decision regarding appointment will be taken in the syndicate meeting today. Credible sources confirmed to Keralakaumudi that a Professor from a forward community is given preference. Syndicate meeting will be held by keeping the name of the preferred person secret. The name will then be submitted to the governor, who is also the Chancellor. Posting will be done by the Chancellor.

Keralakaumudi had reported the scam behind the appointment on April 12. More than one eligible candidates from backward communities were denied. A special policy was introduced to appoint the person from forward community.
