THODUPUZHA: Minister M M Mani denied the allegation of bogus voting by the CPM at Udumbanchola in Idukki. The allegation is totally baseless and is challenging the UDF to prove it, he said. Idukki DCC president Ibrahim Kutty Kallar is not in his senses, Mani said.
Let the allegation of bogus voting be legally examined. The UDF alleged that widespread bogus voting took place at Mani’s constituency Udumbanchola. Kallar’s complaint is that a DYFI activist cast votes in two booths using two identity cards. He had lodged a complaint to the district collector mentioning the anomalies in voting.
Bogus voting took place in booths 66 and 69 of Udumbanchola panchayat. DYFI activist Renjith cast votes in two booths using two identity cards. In one card the name was Renjith Kumar and in the other it was P Renjith. The UDF alleged that two identity cards were issued by influencing officials.
