MALAPPURAM: CPI has raised criticism against P.V. Anwar, the LDF independent candidate at Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency in the district council meeting. The meet pointed out that the comments from P.V. Anwar don’t abide by the front standards. CPI meet advised the candidate to stay away from controversial remarks like the ones against the LDF candidate at Wayanad constituency, P.P. Suneer.
“It was not right to portray P.P. Suneer as the representative of quarry mafia”, CPI meet pointed out.
Anwar had commented that Suneer is readying himself to join the ranks of IUML and he shares a close relationship with League- Congress leaders. “Muslim League had sabotaged the attempts to make him the CPI candidate in 2011 at Ernad. IUML leaders P.K. Basheer gave Rs 25 lakhs for this”, Anwar said.
