VIZHINJAM: The police has released a CCTV footage of the culprit who attempted to snatch the chain of Aishwarya Prasanth Dongre, an IPS trainee and SHO at Thiruvallam Station. The incident was at 7 am near the service road at Kovalam-Pachalloor service road in Kolanthara.

The footage was secured from CCTVs in the premises including the ones from shops. The culprit who appears to be a 25-year-old youth was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue tracksuit. The culprit, though identified has not been taken into police custody. Recently a group of drug peddlers was caught by the police in the leadership of the SHO. The police suspect their hand in this incident.

Fort Assistant Commissioner Pratapan Nair has urged the public to inform any details regarding the person in the footage to 9497990009, 0471 – 2460352. The youth, who came on a back tried to snatch the chain, but the officer was able to push his hand away. She also chased the culprit on foot.
