KASARGOD: Crime Branch DySP Pradeep Kumar has recorded the statements of CPM leaders including an MLA in connection with Periya twin murder.
The investigation team has recorded the statements of Uduma MLA K Kunjiraman, former Uduma MLA K V kunjiraman, CPM district secretariat member and Kasargod district panchayat member Dr VPP Mustafa and Kanjangadu Area secretary Rajmohan

The other day the team had also questioned Uduma Area Secretary Manikantan.

According to the case, Kallyottu Youth Congress workers Kripesh and Sharathlal were allegedly hacked and killed by a team led by former local Committee member Peethambaran.

Following the incident the party had expelled Peethambaran, explaining that his personal animosity was behind the killing and the party had no role in it. The issue was regional.
But the Congress’ allegation was that the CPM leaders had conspired to kill the youths.

Both the Congress and families of the victims had approached the high court, seeking a CBI inquiry.
