THRISSUR: Jumbo Thechikkottu Ramachandran is healthy and not in musth, says the examination report submitted by a three-member medical team appointed by Collector T V Anupama.
“The elephant’s heath is good and there is no symptoms of musth. Also there are no bruises or injuries on his body,” the doctors say in the report.
The Medical team checked three facts – Is the elephant in musth? Are there injuries on its body? Is he obedient?
The elephant is given a bath usually in the morning and this is the time when they play pranks or exhibits disbedience. The health check-up was done by Dr David, Dr Vivek and Dr Biju. The examination continued for about one hour.
The medical team will soon submit the report to the collector. Once the fitness certificate is obtained based on this report, Thechikottukavu Ramachandran will arrive at Neithalakkavu Bhagavathy temple to carry Thidambu (replica of deity) on its forehead.
The high court had considered the petition regarding the parading of Ramachandran for Pooram on Friday. The court instructed that the monitoring committee headed by the collector can take a decision in the case. The health check-up was carried out after this.
