CHANGARAKULAM: Lulu group M.D. M.A. Yusuf Ali has turned savior for yet another struggling family who was facing confiscation threat from the bank. The family of the late Muhammad Ashiq at Kokkoor was suffering to pay up the loan amount which had risen to Rs 17.5 lakhs due to non-payment after the death of Ashiq, who died in Al-Ain on September 15, 2018.

Ashiq was the only source of income for a family of unhealthy mother and a bedridden sister. His father passed away two years back to cancer. In order to look after his family’s daily and medical needs, Ashiq took loans in 2009 and 2017 that amounted to a total of Rs 18 lakhs. After his death payments halted and the bank resorted to the attachment of the house and property. The natives started an action committee to help out the family.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Ali heard about the struggling family and directed his office in Kerala to pay up the entire loan amount within 24 hours after collecting details. The bank manager soon visited the family with happy news. They couldn’t believe what the manager said. “It’s the almighty that brought Yusuf Ali to us in this Ramadan month. He will have our heartfelt prayers forever”, the family said.
