KOLLAM: Accused number one to seven in Peroor Ranjith Johnson murder case were convicted by Kollam Additional Sessions court (4) on Monday. The quantum of punishment will be announced today. The eighth accused Ajimshah was acquitted.
According to the case, Johnson (40) was abducted from his house and beaten to death.
The convicted persons are Pambu Manoj (40), Ranjith aka Kattunni (30), Baiju alias Kaithappuzha Unni (39), Pranav aka Kukku (25), Vishnu (21), Vinesh (38) and Riyaz (30).
The murder was schemed after Ranjith lived with Pambu Manoj’s wife.
The convicts have been charged under IPC 302 (murder), 120 B (conspiracy), 341 (illegal detention), 364 (Abduction with the intention to kill, 201 (Destruction of evidence) and 34 (connive with others to kill).
