THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 19-year-old student who attempted suicide on the University College campus out of desperation of having not been able to study in an expected manner, has applied for a transfer certificate. The girl a native of Attingal came to the college along with her parents to get the TC. As a decision was not taken in which college she will be continuing studies, the TC was not granted.

They later went to the University and met vice chancellor Mahadevan Pillai. He informed that he will make all arrangements at any college the girl wants to study. The girl is interested in continuing her studies at Varkala S N College. She will get her TC from the college after her admission in Varkala College is confirmed.

The first year degree girl student from Alamcode near Attingal attempted suicide on the college campus, leaving a note saying her studies were affected due to over politicisation on the campus. She had also mentioned that some of the women office-bearers of SFI were harassing her for not taking part in their organisational activities. She was found in the college restroom with slash marks on her wrists. In her statement, before the Attingal court, she held none responsible for the turn of events and had no complaints against anyone. The Attingal police had registered a case against her for suicide attempt.
