THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch Wednesday submitted the interim report related to the irregularities noticed in the postal votes of the postal department. More time has been sought for submitting the final report. The crime branch has clarified that how many votes were cast can be known only after the full votes are counted. All these have been mentioned in the report submitted to the DGP.
The statement of the cops who went for election duty outside the state has to be recorded. Only after the votes are counted it can be confirmed how many postal votes were cast. Further investigation can be done only after that, the crime branch pointed.
Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena had directed to submit the investigation report before the results are declared. The last date fixed for submitting the final report is Wednesday. The crime branch had the other issued a notice to submit a complaint if there are any irregularities.
