LONDON: Pinarayi Vijayan is set to become the first chief minister in the country to attend the listing ceremony at London Stock Exchange (LSE) after he received an invitation from the LSE Group to attend the listing of KIIFB’s masala bonds, scheduled May 17. Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac, Chief Secretary Tom Jose and KIIFB CEO K M Abraham have also been invited for the function.

This is for the first time LSE is inviting a chief minister of the country for such a function. Union Ministers Nitin Gadkarai and Piyush Goyal were earlier invited when national highway authority and NTPC issued bonds.

This function would be a milestone for not only KIIFB but for the state also. As Kerala is willing to intervene more actively with the global investors’ forum and financial markets, today’s opening is of utmost importance.
