KANNUR: Re-polling has started in seven booths of Kasargod and Kannur districts where polling was cancelled following election commission’s finding that bogus voting took place. Re-polling is held in four booths in Kasargod Lok Sabha constituency and three in Kannur.
Re-polling which started at 7 am and ending at 6 pm is under strong surveillance. A long queue of voters were seen from 6.30 am onwards in most of the booths.
Re-polling is held at Pamburuthi UP School booth in Kannur, booth 52, 53 in Kunnirikka UPS at Dharmadam, booth 69 and 70 at Puthiyangadi Jama-at High School in Kallyasseri and booth no. 48 at Thrikkarippoor Kooliyod GHS.
Kannur collector Mir Mohammed Ali and Kasargod collector Dr D Sajith Babu said the booths in the districts would have video coverage and webcasting.
Officers in the rank of tahsildar have been appointed as presiding officers. Officers in the rank of village officer will be sector officers. An additional official is appointed in all booths.
