KOZHIKODE: LDF candidate at Vadakara, P. Jayarajan, visited independent candidate C.O.T. Naseer who is hospitalized after getting hacked. Avoiding media, Jayarajan spend about 30 minutes inside the room. He later denied his and the party’s involvement in the incident.

The Congress and RMP had alleged P. Jayarajan’s involvement in the murder attempt of C.O.T. Naseer. The state secretary of CPI (M), Kodiyeri Balakrishnan also denied the party’s association in the incident. Naseer’s was against the CPI (M) by stating that his candidature against P. Jayarajan after leaving the party lead to aggression towards him.

A special investigation team led by Thalassery SP is in charge of the case. A case has been registered against three CPI (M) activists in relation to the incident. Naseer was attacked on Saturday night near Kanak Residency at Kayath road. He was then entered into Kozhikode Baby Memorial Hospital. Naseer underwent surgeries and was transferred to the ventilator.

Naseer is a former CPI (M) local committee and corporation member in Thalassery.
