THALASSERY: The court found five RSS activists guilty in Yaqoob murder case in Kannur. The verdict was pronounced by Thalassery additional district sessions court (II) in the case. The court acquitted accused from sixth to 16th in the case.

The court found guilty RSS activists Shankaran (48), his brother Manoharan alias Manoj (42), Vijesh (38), Prakashan (48) and P Kavyesh (40). The quantum of sentence will be announced shortly.

The court acquitted accused from sixth to 16th including RSS leader Valsan Thillankeri in the case.

Miscreants’ hurled bomb and murdered Yaqoob, a CPM activist on June 13 in 2006. 16 RSS and BJP activists were accused in the case.
