VADAKARA: Police have arrested two CPI (M) activists in relation to the assault on C.O.T. Naseer, an independent candidate at Vadakara. Aswanth Kolassery from Ponnyam Pullodi and Kalarimukku native Sojith are the arrested activists. Naseer was attacked on May 18th. He was hacked by a team of three, riding a bike.

Naseer had alleged the involvement of the local leaders of CPI (M) in the assault. CPI (M) denied the allegations. C.O.T. Naseer, a former Corporation councilor and CPI (M) local committee member dissociated with the party since 2015.
