THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition UDF showered criticisms in the assembly against the masala bonds introduced by the state government for collecting money for Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFBY) projects. The opposition criticised saying that the masala bonds will bring in additional financial liability. The opposition through an adjournment motion notice sought a discussion on it.
Following the notice of K S Sabarinathan MLA, the government took the stand of a special discussion in the assembly. The notice sought a discussion after stopping assembly proceedings as the conditions of the masala bonds are mysterious. A decision has been taken to discuss the issue after attention notice and submission.
The opposition had levelled allegations earlier related to the masala bonds. The decision to introduce the masala bonds for KIIFBY projects during election time had stoked a controversy. Leaders of all parties will partake in the discussion.
