KANNUR: BJP leadership has started pulling strings to bring A.P. Abdullakutty to the party after his post on Facebook praising Modi drew criticism from Congress. Abdullakutty, currently residing in Mangalore is keeping close ties with Karnataka leaders.

By bringing Abdullakutty to BJP, the party aims for a secular face. A BJP leader in Mangalore has taken initiative in this.

As the stage is set for a by-election in Manjeswaram due to the demise of IUML’s P.B. Razzak, it is rumored that the BJP might consider Abdullakutty. Senior leaders of BJP could possibly meet with Abdullakutty.

Talking to media, Abdullakutty said that he got in trouble for opening up about Modi’s development strategy when he was not a noted politician.

Sources close to Abdullakutty says that BJP might be the only way for him if Congress shuts the door.
