THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Main accused advocate Biju Mohan in the case of gold smuggling via Thiruvananthapuram international airport surrendered here Friday. He surrendered at the DRI office in Kochi accompanied by his advocate.

The Kerala High Court who considered Biju’s anticipatory bail plea on Thursday directed him to surrender before 10 am on Friday. Reports say that it was Biju who are controlling gold smuggling in the capital city. He is being questioned by the DRI.

25 kilograms of gold smuggled from Dubai was seized at the airport here. He surrendered during a probe related to this case.

It is hinted that the gold was brought for PPM Chains owner Muhammadali. Hakkeem, manager of Thiruvananthapuram showroom and Muhammadali are absconding.
