THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As mystery surrounding violinist Balabhaskar’s death refuses to die down, his relatives have come out with some speculations over his accident death; they have also cast doubt on police investigation into his death.

Balabhaskar’s relative Priya Venugopal on Monday alleged that the police were not ready to examine the doubts expressed by Balu’s relatives or the nature of the injuries.

“Even eight months after the incident, the police are not able to find out who was driving the car at the time of accident. Despite Balu’s father giving names of suspicious persons and environments that can be linked to the accident, the police didn’t take them into consideration. The police didn’t take statements from family members or doctors who first treated the injured. They also didn’t check the call details of Balu and driver,” she said.

Priya Venugopal said she doubted whether there was any conspiracy behind factors that made Balu, who was staying in a hotel with his family for temple darshan, to return immediately home. She questioned the logic behind the police claim that they were able to find out who was driving the car with the help of a hair straw found on the driver’s seat months after the accident.

Arjun, who was visited by Balu’s relatives in hospital, had told them it was he who was driving the car. When asked whether he had dozed off in the car, he said he didn’t think so. He also repented for himself becoming a reason for “dear Balu’s demise”.
