KOCHI: Health Minister K K Shylaja came forward criticising many including Jacob Vadakkanchery for circulating fake messages in the social media in the name of nature treatment for Nipah. She hinted this while convening a press meet following the confirmation of Nipah virus in Ernakulam.

Some are found propagating some kinds of things in the social media. Last time a person identified as Mohanan Vaidyar brought a mango from somewhere and took a bite from it and said that he consumed the bat bitten fruit and that you also can eat it. Strict action will be taken for such publicity. The public should boycott such blunders, the minister said at the press meet.

Jacob Vadakkanchery had the other day publicised a video on Nipah. He had asserted that Nipah is not a disease and is a fraud of the drug mafia. Should not go to the hospital for allopathy medicine if down with fever. Should not take medicine for fever. No one had died for not taking medicine for fever but many lost lives after consuming medicine for it, he said.
