KOCHI: The health department has said that all circumstances related to Nipah viral infection was under control. In the bulletin released by the health department, it is said that the youth who had been under treatment for the disease was also showing signs of improvement in his health. The disease symptoms related to Nipah could be spotted in animals anywhere in the State.
The hospital authorities informed on Wednesday that the youth had started eating food. The blood samples of six patients admitted in isolation ward have been sent to Alappuzha and Poona labs.
The number of people under observation has risen to 314 as three more persons were found to have been in contact with the patient. The health department has informed that people could call 1077 and 04842425200 to get any information related to Nipah infection.
Dr Balamurali from Alappuzha National Institute of Virology, Dr Reema Sahai from Poona Institute and Dr Anitha have reached the district.
A six-member team under Central health department ministry joint director Dr Ruchi Jain also visited Paravur Vadakkekara panchayat to take stock of the situation.
