THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the reports, that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s foreign trip, seeking Indian diaspora’s flood relief, had failed to get the desired result, BJP State president P S Sreedharan Pillai has come out with strong criticism against the government.

“Kerala government had asked Rs 3000 crore as the flood relief fund but what the Centre gave the State was Rs 4000 crore. And, the government failed to use the fund fruitfully,” he alleged.

At the same time, Pillai said the Centre should be congratulated for spoiling the plan of State minister to tour foreign lands in the name of flood fund mobilisation, belittling the pride of the country.

“The Centre could block the tour of ministers as there were efficient officials in the ministry, who were able to evaluate facts at that time. The chief minister’s trip was in vain and it was a failure. It also has to be doubted whether an attempt was made to exploit a natural calamity,” he said.
