THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two people were electrocuted when they came in touch with a broken electric line at Pettah in the capital city. The dead has been identified as Radhakrishnan, a native of Pettah and Prasanna Kumari, a native of Nedumangad. The incident happened at Pettah Monday morning at 6.30 am.
The snapped electric line was found lying in a water clogged area. A newspaper boy who saw the two electrocuted informed the concerned. Though they were taken to the hospital, their lives could not be saved.
Water is clogged in many areas of the city in the heavy rains that lashed the district.
The Kerala State Electricity Board has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the family.
