KOCHI: The High Court registered suo moto case after two persons were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live electric wire that had snapped. The case was registered to avoid such incidents from happening in the future. The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and chief secretary has been included in the case. For further actions, the case has been set for the consideration of Chief Justice.

Pettah natives Radhakrishnan and Prasannakumari died after they came in contact with a live electric wire that had snapped and fell into a small area where water had stagnated.

A native informed the police and the info was passed on to the KSEB after which the electric connection was disconnected. As compensation, the KSEB declared Rs 10 lakhs to the family of the deceased and Rs 2 lakhs was handed over as the first installment.
