PALAKKAD: Victory of Palakkad MP V.K. Sreekandan was one of the surprises of the Lok Sabha election. The winning majority of Sreekandan over sitting CPI (M) MP was 11,637 votes. Now he wants to fulfill an oath her took years ago.

When he was a student Sreekandan pledged to shave his beard only if he manages to beat CPI (M). In an interview to a private channel, the MP said that he is going to stand by his promise and shave the beard for one time.

“Shaving my beard will be the first thing I do once I reach my native place”, he said.

Sreekandan was attacked during his time at Shornur SN College. He says that he studied there when there were brutality and suppression. He was attacked several times and once it left a scar on his face. To hide the scar, he grew a beard. His family was against that. Then he said that he will shave the beard once he defeats the left party.
